Ég hef ekkert skrifað um Liverpool á þessu tímabili en ég er smám saman að tapa aftur mínu takmarkaða trausti á Gerard Houllier. Töp fyrir Charlton og Portsmouth og jafntefli gegn Aston Villa og Tottenham eru alls ekki ásættanleg úrslit.

Eins hefur Gerard Houllier á einhvern ótrúlegan hátt ekki ennþá fattað hversu lélegur framherji Emile Heskey er. Ég hata Heskey! Ég veit ekki hversu lengur ég get, sem harðurLiverpool stuðningsmaður, þolað að sjá Heskey í Liverpool búning í byrjunarliðinu í hverjum einasta leik. Það er ekki hægt að leggja þetta á mann mikið lengur.

Alex Malone kemst að svipaðri niðurstöðu og ég, ásamt mjög mörgum stuðningsmönnum Liverpool, eru að komast að: Nefnilega að það er kominn tími á að lokka aftur einn allra besta leikmann Liverpool, Kevin Keegan, í þjálfarastöðuna:

But talking of Man City, maybe it’s time to look down the road for our next manager. Kevin Keegan, my boyhood hero as a player, has shown his ability as a manager at Newcastle, Fulham, and now at City. His team has scored 8 goals more than Liverpool in their 9 league games so far. As for their supposed dodgy defence………… well, they’ve conceded only one more goal than us. Just imagine if Keegan’s attacking philosophy was let loose on the likes of Kewell, Le Tallec, Diouf, Riise, Gerrard etc? I doubt the Biscans, Heskeys and Diaos of the current Liverpool team would survive. I also doubt that Gerrard and Diouf would each get away with a zero goal return from 9 games. While we currently have 4 goalscorers in the league this season, City currently have 10. A fluke? I don’t think so. (Robbie Fowler isn’t one of them by the way!) Keegan demands flair, and stacks his team with players who can supply it, while at the same time score goals. Keegan is also young, ambitious and has the principles and values of a certain Bill Shankly guiding him. He’s one of the all time great Liverpool players.

Maybe he should be given the chance to be one of the all time great Liverpool managers?
